Charted a strategic course that unifies their boat sales and unlocking clarity, growth, and digital power for the journey ahead.

You know how much I love diving deep into the marine industry – it's where my passion truly meets purpose. So, when Tom and Bev Rosella, owners of one of the largest Freedom Boat Club franchises in the world, reached out to me with a unique challenge, I was all in. They had a vision to define their complementary boat sale business while increasing demand for pre-owned boat sales, and I saw an opportunity to partner in creating something truly transformative.


My mission, alongside a trusted marketing collective, was to breathe new life into the Liberty Boat Group brand, repositioning it as the strategic parent brand for their collection of businesses, including Freedom Boat Club – a brand they, as franchisees, proudly represent. This wasn't about a “fresh coat of paint;” it was about laying foundations for something much bigger, something that could even open doors for future growth opportunities down the line.


Historically, their boat sales efforts were sometimes called Liberty Boat Group and other times it was mingled with "Freedom Fleet Sales." The brand needed clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward. This project was all about smart, strategic integration, building a brand that perfectly supports their thriving Freedom Boat Club business while also having the ability to confidently stand on its own, to support the boat sales business.


The Power of Clarity: Elevating Liberty Boat Group as a Parent Brand


For me, strategic branding is about more than a visual identity – it’s about empowering a business to tell its story with impact. The core challenge here was fascinating: Freedom Boat Club has a unique "business within a business" model, where franchises expertly manage the sale of boats exiting the fleet. 


Our strategy for Liberty Boat Group's brand foundations directly tackled this:

  • Building Buyer Confidence: We needed to assure buyers of these pre-owned fleet boats that they were making a premium investment. The new Liberty Boat Group brand speaks directly to quality, maintenance, and a brand boat buyers can trust.

  • Empowering the Team: We gave the team a powerful digital platform and a clear brand identity to effectively generate demand for boat sales. One that can stand on its own or co-brand seamlessly with the Freedom Boat Club brand, in-market. 

  • Harmonious Coexistence: This was paramount. The brand strategy was thoughtfully developed to ensure Liberty Boat Group could coexist beautifully with the Freedom Boat Club brand. It's about respecting the established global brand while carving out a distinct, owned space that champions the full lifecycle of the boating experience – and support the business necessity to exit out-going fleet. This intentional brand positioning provides that connection and support.

And then, there's the website – because a smartly designed brand deserves an equally matched digital home. For Liberty Boat Group's boat sale business, we didn't just build a pretty interface; we engineered a robust digital platform designed for both operational efficiency for the team and an enhanced, intuitive customer journey for potential buyers.

This means no more double data entry, no "another digital property to manage" headache – just streamlined, real-time accuracy that empowers their existing workflows.

The site features advanced filtering and sorting capabilities based on key data, allowing buyers to quickly zero in on their dream boat.
